About

The non-profit sports school began its activities in the middle of the 20th century under the name "Avangard". In 1994, the institution was renamed to DYUSSH "Ukraine", and later the honored coach of Ukraine Oleksandr Kulyk was elected as its head. In 2016, the sports school was re-registered as KDYUSSH "Ukraine" under PJSC "Sumbud". In 2023, KDYUSSH "Ukraine" was named in honor of Oleksandr Kulyk, an honorary citizen of the city of Sumy, who died on March 1, 2022, defending Sumy from the russian invaders.
Oleksandr Vasyliovych Kulyk is an honored cycling coach of Ukraine. He trained the Olympic champion of 1988 Oleksandr Kyrychenko and the silver medalist of the 2000 Olympics Oleksandr Fedenko, as well as a number of masters of sports and champions of Ukraine in cycling.
